UQ researchers help shape Australian Framework for AI in Higher Education

8 December 2025

The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success (ACSES) has released a national framework to guide how artificial intelligence is implemented in higher education, with key contributions from UQ academics.

The Australian Framework for Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education was developed by ACSES with contributions from Prof Jason Lodge and A/Prof Christine Slade from The University of Queensland. The project involved researchers from multiple Australian institutions and sector partners as part of the Australian National AI in Schools Taskforce.

"The framework provides guidance for the implementation of AI in the Australian higher education sector".

It sets out core principles to guide the implementation of AI and seeks to identify areas requiring further development.
