Social impact of AI and future of work

Prof. Greg Marston’s research interests are on the social impact of AI and automation in the future of work. He focuses on the welfare-work nexus and the changing nature of employment, including the gig economy.

He has written various submissions and given evidence at government inquiries into the future of work.

He has undertaken research on Uber drivers, e-government, addressing inequalities associated with automation through basic income proposals.

He is also interested in public policy approaches to regulating AI to reduce bias and increase transparency in algorithmic decision-making.
