The UQ Gas & Energy Transition Research Centre invites you to join an in-person guest lecture by Professor András Bardossy titled 'The Future Role of AI in Environmental Modelling'.

Date: 27 February 2026
Time: 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Location: Level 4, Sir James Foots Building, The University of Queensland

Professor Bardossy will examine the rapidly expanding use of artificial intelligence in environmental science. While AI offers powerful new tools for data analysis and modelling, important questions remain around interpretability, robustness, and uncertainty quantification. Drawing on examples from hydrological modelling - particularly long short-term memory (LSTM) models - Professor Bardossy will highlight both the strengths and limitations of current approaches.

Registration required here to attend.
