Cyber-attacks are becoming increasingly sophisticated and frequent. The estimated average cost of each successful attack on business is already estimated at more than a million dollars per incident.

UQ has an ongoing and successful collaboration with Comscentre to develop an advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) based system to detect, identify and autonomously mitigate cyber-attacks in large-scale computer networks.

As part of the collaboration, they have developed and implemented an AI platform for the detection of network intrusions and cyber attacks.

Initial tests of this technology on a large-scale network have been successful.

The platform could be used to significantly increase the security of computer networks, and enhance their resilience to a wide range of current and future cyber-attacks.
